Availability List for Friday November 3

Posted 10/31/2017 11:24am by Natalie Kujala.

This Friday is my birthday (Taylor here)! This weekend, I believe my friends and I will probably go for a hike and go to see a band on Friday! Next weekend, I will go out to dinner with my dad in Virginia. It is really a birthday month. A few of my familiy members have birthdays this month as well! Anyways, back to the produce world. At the coop, winter events are being planned. Tis the season for meetings, conferences, and planning!

PHONE NOTE: If you are calling in to place your order, but the order extension is busy, please press 0. This will bring your call to an available staff member who can take your order.

HIGHLIGHTS:   GREENS REMINDER: We can pack baby arugula, and baby sweet & spicy in 5lb, 8lb, or 10lb cases. Please let us know by WEDNESDAY MIDDAY if you are interested in a pack that is not on our list!

GOLDRUSH APPLES: We wanted to remind you about these organic apples; they have these blemishes, but we want to share them with you! These sweet, yet tart apples come from Peachey’s Fruit Farm in Mill Creek, Pennsylvania. This shipment of GoldRush apples has light blemishes. The apples are not degrading or misshapen, and they taste great! These are excellent raw or baked.

TURNIPS: These bad boys are turning it up (turnip style). I just want to make sure you are aware of my bad turnip joke! Maybe we need to “turnip” for my birthday (say turnip 5 times fast). Hidden Brook Farm and Maple Creek Farm, both in Path Valley, have been growing turnips for the coop this year. If you’d like to give them a shout-out, please show us how you turn it up on Instagram!

WINTER SQUASH: The Long Island Cheese Squash, and their baby cousin, the Autumn Crown Squash, are ready for your shelves and kitchens. These varieties are excellent for pie making. Some claim that there is no need to puree them; their flesh is instantly pie ready! They remind me of the pumpkin carriage that takes Cinderella to the ball!

BEET ROOTS: These have the beets for our turnip party! If you cannot choose between the gold and red beets, we do have mixed cases! Please do not be shy to ask about our beets. These beets are so fresh that they have an aunty and uncle in Bel-Air!

NON-ORGANIC, ALL NATURAL LOCAL CHICKEN EGGS: AVAILABLE IN MEDIUM, LARGE AND EXTRA-LARGE, 15 DOZEN BULK. PLEASE CALL TIM DERSTINE AT HARES VALLEY GROWERS AT 814 448 2784 FOR GREAT EGG PRICES.
