For Tuesday April 18th
I’m sure many of you are gearing up to celebrate Easter this weekend. It seems as though everyone here at the office is celebrating in her own unique way. While I’ll be acting as an airport shuttle while trying to fulfill family obligations, Taylor will be heading out to Philadelphia to celebrate with her mom. Shelly on the other hand will be manning the dirt track on her farm, while Robin plans on attending sunrise service before heading out for a horseback ride. Norma and Teresa will be cooking for their families, while Emily said she’s just waiting for the Easter candy to go on sale. However you plan to celebrate the holiday, I hope you and yours enjoy it. Happy Easter! We hope everyone has a great holiday and is ready to stock up on fresh produce after the festivities.
Note: We are experiencing a lull in sweet & spicy salad mix. We do not expect to have any for Tuesday delivery. Don’t despair, we have lots of baby spinach, baby arugula, baby mesclun, and baby lettuce heads to fill the temporary void!
CURLY PARSLEY: Curly parsley is more than just a decorative garnish, though it does make quite the garnish. It can add a nice burst of color to many dishes, and also adds welcome texture to tabbouleh and other fresh salads.
SWEET POTATOES: As many other produce items have before them, all sweet potato crops must also come to an end. Though we still have some deep purple, Japanese finger-sweet, and Japanese sweet potatoes available, we won’t have them for much longer!
BABY SPINACH: Fresh spinach salads. Sautéed spinach and garlic. Hearty green smoothies. White cheese and spinach pizza. Spinach and artichoke dip. There are so many delicious recipes for this hearty, versatile green, each as delightful as the next!
YOUNG BOK CHOI: I’m keeping the bok choi shout out on here as it holds a special place in my heart. I remember one year a crop had some pretty bad bug damage making it unmarketable, so a few friends and I made mass amount of kraut. It was pretty satisfying turning a disappointing loss into a tasty treat.
